Role at Appleton
Tom joined Appleton in 2024 and serves as Director of Business Development for Private Client Services. In this role, Tom works in collaboration with colleagues, business partners, and other parties to present Appleton’s Private Client investment and planning capabilities to intermediaries and prospects, while also cultivating and managing relationships with COIs, attorneys, and accountants. Tom works together with Portfolio Managers and Marketing in planning and conducting client referral and related marketing initiatives.
Professional Experience
Prior to joining Appleton Partners, Tom was with Charles Schwab & Co. where he served as Managing Director and Head of the Client Portfolio Strategist Group. Tom supported sales efforts and partnered with product management teams on strategy development, field collateral, and new product development and rollouts. He started his financial career in sales and trading before joining the Asset Management side, and fondly remembers the days of flying Army helicopters in Germany. Tom is a CFA charter holder and a member of the Boston Securities Analyst Society.

Tom enjoys hiking and golf when it’s too cold for the beach. He and his wife Susan have three wonderful kids, and two amazing grandchildren!
